Soliloquy Jewelry: Unboxing Daughter Of The Moon Ring

Tuesday, August 5, 2014

Another package has arrived at MeShe! This time it is from my friend Kerin from SoliloquyJewelry.  She recently added vintage rings into her shop. I went ahead and purchased one of her vintage eagle rings, a few days later she had posted a work in progress on Facebook.  I jumped as soon as I saw the ring. I'm a huge fan of anything celestial, so I added that to my order.   She custom fit the band to my size and shipped it off to me!

The box arrived beautifully packaged with lots of sage green crinkle paper, a hand stamped kraft box, and pouch full of goodies. Kerin includes a small sticker, and a business card with an image printed on the front.  Everything has a cohesive boho feel to it. I enjoyed unwrapping each treasure one by one.

These are her mason Jar Necklaces. How innovative!

I first unwrapped the smaller kraft box with lots of raffia ribbon and a piece of what looks to be lavender. Inside was my vintage eagle ring that I had chosen from her shop. A great everyday ring finished in a vintage brass, with a turquoise like inlay. The style of ring could easily be unisex.

A closer look at the vintage eagle ring.

As I unwrapped the hand stamped pouch this beauty was securely wrapped in bubble wrap. I laid eyes and knew it was mine!  I really love anything celestial as I mentioned in my youtube video.  Celestial, wizards, and fairies, ill take all of the above. The hand carved bone is beautiful complimenting the smiling man in the moon. The three turquoise pieces perfectly compliment the piece making for a large statement ring.

My initial thoughts were that I am in love. And that I would wear it more than I thought. It has a nice lightweight feel for the size and amount of stones. Each turquoise are unique in size and color pattern, the turquoise used in this ring are from the Blue Moon Mine in Nevada.  The framed stamped wire gives it a balance and centers your eye to the stones at hand.

I like the mix of serrated bezel and smooth as shown in the photo above.

This photo above is from SoliloquyJewelry. I forgot to take a photo of the back! Finished with a large Tapered band for comfort. Allowing the large bezel to not spin around on the finger.

Overall I am very satisfied with my purchased from Kerin. Very bohemian, earthy, inspiring jewelry. Reminds me of traditional metalsmithing techniques the native americans use and teach but with an updated twist.

Here are some beautiful turquoise, quartz, and amethyst stones she included. Thank you lady! I love everything :)

Now thats a ring!
Full youtube video up!

Hope you all enjoyed! Will share more unique artisan goodies that I pick up shortly!

Miss November Studio Peanut Ring Review

Tuesday, June 24, 2014

So you may ask when making jewelry, do you ever wear designs other than your own. Of course! With being a jeweler you more than likely have an obsession for stones, metal, and good designs. I have the pleasure of networking with a group of fantastic, talented, loving artisan women who I am proud to call friends.

Sandra and I met through instagram well over a year ago. We have chatted, sent parcels, and supported each other along with our other fire burning angels.  There are some people you meet that you know they have a kind soul and she is one of them.  I had no doubt when I was ready to make a purchase from her shop I would be pleased with her craftsmanship.  I am all about values, and she is stellar.

Once she posted her Peanut Stacking Ring on instagram I knew it had to be mine. I was nuts about them, pun intended. Simple, everyday, and quirky. I tend to wear rings the most, and knew these were great for when I'm at the bench and dont want to wear a chunky piece.

I ordered and left a note to her that I couldn't wait to get DEEZ NUTS LOL!! Most of her jewelery along with mine is made to order.  Remember small artists need time to fabricate your piece making it truly one of a kind.

Wally wants to eat the peanut ring, the balls on this one hehe ;)

I received my package in a bright teal bubble mailer envelope, which I love compared to my boring Kraft color envelopes! I ripped that bad boy open to find a thank you card personally written, even if you didn't personally know Sandra she packs your little itty bitty envelope with hand stamped thank you cards, business cards, and the goods. Her packaging is bright, fun, patterned, retro, and full of love.

The ring is perfection a sweet simple, petite stacking ring with a powerful peanut soldered on top of the ring shank.  I really love the ring shank, it is a triangle wire giving it some dimension at the top. The peanut has a slight oxidization to pronunce the nooks and crannies of the peanuts surface. Tumbled to a high shine to make for a perfect sterling stacker. Overall this is genius, i needed to grow a pair so I bought a pair.

She also made me her famous itty bitty stamped stacking rings. It amazes me how anyone could have the patience to stamp these little rings, they are precise and genius. Mine states "Deez nuts been torched by an angel". A bit of an inside joke, so meaningful to me. This again has an oxidization to bring out the stamping and tumbled to that high shine.  She has a variety of stamped rings as shown below. You can click on the picture to see all her stackers.

These two rings perfectly compliment each other.  I am in love, and would totally recommend her designs to anyone seeking a great personalized gift. I had a great overall experience personally and professionally with Sandra from Miss November Studio. Let me know if you pick anything up from her store :)

Weekly Update 5/29

Thursday, May 29, 2014

A picture update of the last few weeks here at MeShe. As always its been a busy few weeks. In am currently cleaning up my shops on Etsy.  I have put most items in my Vintage Etsy Store on clearance, as these listings sell and expire I will move over all my "cheaper" items into  New Shop where almost everything will be under $20.00.   So now I will have three shops total the last being my Metal Line.  I will really be cleaning up my original vintage line with higher quality items, crystals and more boho with a vintage twist.

Love these new Buddha Crystal necklaces, featuring a Vintage Buddha, Moonstone, Iolite, and Aura Quartz.

I purchased these vintage Intaglios from a retired jeweler.  These are black onyx warrior intaglios, he traveled all around the world collecting and buying throughout his career.  I was lucky enough to pick through some of his collection and purchase these amazing materials.

A Morrocan Agate, this was hand cut and polished by a local lapidary artist.  I am in love with the striping in this stone. I am happy I did not make this in my size, I would have kept it :)

I have a big dipper necklace that is similar in style to the prototype above.  I am currently making a whole zodiac series, each zodiac sign will have a constellation pendant similar to the above picture.  Which is still not completed but you get the idea.

I picked up the Happy Herbivore Light and Lean cookbook.  Every recipe I made tasted delicious was easy to prepare.  I am not someone who likes to cook by any stretch of the imagination so these recipes were very easy to follow and didn't feel like I was slaving all day to make a meal. This was one of my favorite,  Peanut Soba Noodles.

Just sold this vintage ivory inspired piece with a piece of faceted labradorite.

I launched this little Jelly Bean ring, I set a chrysoprase on a hammered band. Great for everyday wear. or stacking.

I went to see David Gray in concert in Manhattan and it was hands down the best show I have ever seen.  I love live music and have seen some great shows, but the acoustics, instruments, overall experience was very personal and engaging. If you haven't heard any of his music I highly recommend you look into him.

I have had my nose pierced for years and I always wanted to make nose rings.  I finally got around to making small recycled sterling silver studs. Available now.

Beautiful weather, loved this little boat just hanging by the water.

I used these tigers eye beads to make handmade earrings in sterling silver.  Would you like to see more stones available in this style?

Was feeling my tribal look.  Backpack I got at a market in London near Brick Lane, and the shoes were by Topshop.

New pink opal! Just launched this stone made to order.  I have a very limited quantity.  This was a custom order that I now offer in the shop.  Set on a very thick luxurious band.

Also I shared these on my IG and Facebook.  All new man in the moonstone styles have launched.  The peach moonstone is such a rare large size, again same band is used for the peach as above pink opal. Click photos for pricing.

I have some plans for these vintage bows.  Will be launched in a few weeks.

Currently reading #Girlboss and it rocks if you can see in the middle I also posted a photo of my new business cards :)

A photo of my moonstone moon stackers in the oxidized finish. I also just did a behind the scenes video for these rings.  Click photo for the video.

I have lots of swarovski crystals available if you are interested email meshedesigns@yahoo.com they are not listed on my sites yet.

Beautiful large vintage Czechoslovakian crystals, I even have the original packaging!

All new pieces launching this weekend in my vintage collection :)

Lots of customs being prepared and a few new rose quartz posts, multi color sapphire ring, and coral post earrings will hit my metal shop this weekend as well.

A clean soldering station, where most of the magic happens!  I bought new tiles for my soldering bench.  It is so nice to have a clean work space.  It doesn't last long with orders being prepared and filled.

A closer shot of soldered post earrings, this is pre pickled (pickling - removes fire scale from the heat of the flame).

I am redoing the setting for this ring.  It will be a bit magical and mystical, I can't wait to launch.  I am in the process of building the prototype.

Leaving this weeks blog post off with two pictures.  One of my best friend and Quattro the smallest cutest Jack Russell Ever, and Quattro and I.  A beautiful day for a hike at the beach.  Summer is finally here!
