Soliloquy Jewelry: Unboxing Daughter Of The Moon Ring

Tuesday, August 5, 2014

Another package has arrived at MeShe! This time it is from my friend Kerin from SoliloquyJewelry.  She recently added vintage rings into her shop. I went ahead and purchased one of her vintage eagle rings, a few days later she had posted a work in progress on Facebook.  I jumped as soon as I saw the ring. I'm a huge fan of anything celestial, so I added that to my order.   She custom fit the band to my size and shipped it off to me!

The box arrived beautifully packaged with lots of sage green crinkle paper, a hand stamped kraft box, and pouch full of goodies. Kerin includes a small sticker, and a business card with an image printed on the front.  Everything has a cohesive boho feel to it. I enjoyed unwrapping each treasure one by one.

These are her mason Jar Necklaces. How innovative!

I first unwrapped the smaller kraft box with lots of raffia ribbon and a piece of what looks to be lavender. Inside was my vintage eagle ring that I had chosen from her shop. A great everyday ring finished in a vintage brass, with a turquoise like inlay. The style of ring could easily be unisex.

A closer look at the vintage eagle ring.

As I unwrapped the hand stamped pouch this beauty was securely wrapped in bubble wrap. I laid eyes and knew it was mine!  I really love anything celestial as I mentioned in my youtube video.  Celestial, wizards, and fairies, ill take all of the above. The hand carved bone is beautiful complimenting the smiling man in the moon. The three turquoise pieces perfectly compliment the piece making for a large statement ring.

My initial thoughts were that I am in love. And that I would wear it more than I thought. It has a nice lightweight feel for the size and amount of stones. Each turquoise are unique in size and color pattern, the turquoise used in this ring are from the Blue Moon Mine in Nevada.  The framed stamped wire gives it a balance and centers your eye to the stones at hand.

I like the mix of serrated bezel and smooth as shown in the photo above.

This photo above is from SoliloquyJewelry. I forgot to take a photo of the back! Finished with a large Tapered band for comfort. Allowing the large bezel to not spin around on the finger.

Overall I am very satisfied with my purchased from Kerin. Very bohemian, earthy, inspiring jewelry. Reminds me of traditional metalsmithing techniques the native americans use and teach but with an updated twist.

Here are some beautiful turquoise, quartz, and amethyst stones she included. Thank you lady! I love everything :)

Now thats a ring!
Full youtube video up!

Hope you all enjoyed! Will share more unique artisan goodies that I pick up shortly!

Arrok MetalStudio: Unboxing JellyFish Ring

Friday, August 1, 2014

I am lucky to know a group of metal smiths on Instagram. I have the pleasure of speaking with these women day in and day out. Talking business, funny, and life. I am blessed to have these Fire Angels in my daily swing.

Arrok MetalStudio is run by a lovely woman name Nicole based out of California. She makes unique mixed metal pieces that feature gemstones, multi layer metals, and different creatures and crawlers. Nicole also offers a line of talisman and mini weapons.

We recently decided to swap jewels, she choose a beautiful rare purple chalcedony ring. In exchange I choose one of her custom Jelly Fish rings.

As you can see it came packaged with lots of goodies. I always like receiving extra business cards from friends. A sweet note and of course the main prize that beautiful jelly fish ring!  When I unboxed these treasures it came securely packed in a brown shipping box with lots of crinkle paper and raffia. A beautiful pouch with Arrok stamped on it and a mini business card.

As I opened the pouch my eyes laid on this beauty. A perfect blue flashy labradorite set within a hand pierced jellyfish design. Her pieces are multiple layer of sterling silver giving it a true substantial feeling. There is tiny little air bubble details for the water floating in the ocean seas. Top to bottom left to right this piece is incredible.

The back is beautifully finished and has her logo stamped along with the traditional .925. The band is beautiful again with little circle textured details.

A split shank making for a comfortable wear.

Another shot of this beauty on the hand. I also like that I can wear this piece either way on my hand. Super comfortable fit. This piece can be custom made for you, she will make to order in your size. Visit her Etsy shop Arrok .  Overall 5 star experience, and if you want to shop with a small business owner who is kind, hard working, and pure talent you will be super satisfied with her pieces. From one metalsmith to another.

Here is a youtube video on my unboxing if you prefer video format.

I hope you enjoyed this blogpost, I will be posting another unboxing next week when more jewels arrive that I have purchased!

Weekly Update 7/2/2014

Wednesday, July 2, 2014

Summer is officially here, this is my favorite time of year. I love the relaxed ease of getting dressed into flowing tops, shorts and flip flops.  There is a carefree feeling that comes with the summer time. I love being by the water and starting my days with beach walks and rock digging. The past few weeks have been productive on the bench as well as personally. Happy July everyone I hope you are planning something fun for the 4th!

It was a dear friends 30th birthday a few weeks ago, what better way to celebrate than going on a booze cruise around the city. It was the perfect night, warm, no humidity, just a slight breeze, water was clear and not choppy. The skyline was incredible, lots of dancing, cheers, dollar store party favors, and throwing a message in a bottle overboard. Maybe It will come back to me one day :)

It doesn't matter how many times you see the Statue of Liberty or any significant landmark.  It always looks beautiful on a serene night with people you love.

This image was perfection, freedom tower, sailboat, and sunset.

As we circled around the sun had set on Manhattan. Enough said.

More blue labradorite because I cant resist when It comes to stones.  All four are available for customs.

Starting my day good morning rocky beach.

And a little fruit parfait. I love berries on the beach.

I created this custom piece for a lovely customer of mine in Texas. She is a warrior spirit and was immediately drawn to the purple labradorite stone. This design just came very natural from start to finish. It felt like it was hers from the moment I started sawing the metal. Every piece is made with love but this especially is a spirit piece.  It has so much positive energy radiating from the neckline.

I paired it with a thick sterling chain and purple amethyst on the bail.

Look at my Little Pirate, Wally is winking at you ;)
